Bai Shao 白芍(炒), derived from the root of Paeonia lactiflora, is a fundamental herb in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) known for its ability to nourish blood, soften the liver, and relieve pain. Unlike its counterpart Chi Shao (Red Peony), Bai Shao is processed to enhance its blood-tonifying and yin-nourishing properties.
